Play Galaxian Namco-Midway Arcade Game Online Free
This article is for anyone interested in playing the Namco (Jap.) Arcade classic Galaxian online free. This game was released by Midway when it was released in the US later. The story is you play as the Galaxians and your mission is to destroy the aliens.
It is very similar to Space Invaders except it expanded on a few key aspects added. The colors in the game were layered and they animated explosions and sprites. Also instead of boring straight forward shooting in Space Invaders there would be the occasional Kamikaze style alien which flies toward you.
It was a very popular Arcade release that is often looked for online today due to the classics rarity. It is easy to find/play most places online including the world wide web and new game consoles. You still can play Galaxian on Atari, ColecoVision, Dreamcast, Gameboy Advance, and Nes. It is sometimes package in a bundle with other arcade hits such as Galaga and Dig Dug.
The Official Highest Score for Galaxian was set by Gary Whelan of Manchester, England in 2004. The score was 399,290 points. Good luck if you are trying to beat this record. It will take a lot of practice destroying these tricky aliens after awhile.
